Do I need to fast before testing?
There are several tests that require fasting in order to get the most accurate results you. You should fast 8 hours for the glucose test. The CMP (complete metabolic panel) includes a glucose test, so fasting is required for it if you would like accurate glucose results. A 12 hour fast is required for the Total Lipid Profile (cholesterol panel). You are fasting specifically for the Triglycerides and the LDL. The HDL, risk ratio, and total cholesterol may be consider the non-fasting portions of the Total Lipid Profile. Fasting means you should not ingest anything except water, black coffee, and prescribed medications for the listed number of hours prior to testing.
Do I need an appointment?
Most screenings are done on a walk-in basis. Your waiting time usually should not exceed 15 minutes. If you are fasting and need to be tested early in the morning, we recommend that you arrive at least 15 minutes prior to our starting time, or make an appointment.
If you would like to schedule an appointment, please phone us at (888) 837-8567.
How much do the tests cost?
Our pricing is 30 – 80% less than traditional sources of medical lab testing. In many cases, we send our samples to the same lab as your local clinic or hospital. We keep prices low through volume and low overhead. Click on the following link for a list of our tests, and money saving packages, and panels and their corresponding prices.
How do I pay for testing?
You may pay with cash, or checks made payable to Northwest Wellness. We also accept Visa or MasterCard.
Does Northwest Wellness accept Medicare or other insurance?
Medicare will not reimburse us as we are not a primary care provider. We do not bill insurance, however, some people who have participated in our program have been reimbursed by their health insurance companies by filling out a form and sending a copy of their receipt.
Are test results shared with my doctor?
No. The information gathered from our testing is for you to use at your discretion. Law requires that we keep the results of any blood work on file, however, this information is absolutely not disclosed to anyone but you. Feel free to share the test results with your physician as the results are run and reported to you by state and federal certified and registered labs including NW Wellness.
